With us here at RFH Classics, we are delighted to present this wonderful 1974 (M) Volkswagen Beetle 1200 finished in the vibrant Brilliant Orange, a true period colour that perfectly captures the fun spirit of these iconic cars.

Adding to this particular car’s appeal is its exceptional history, coming to us from long term previous ownership this Beetle has been in the care of the same family for nearly 40 years, passed through generations and clearly cherished throughout its life. Cars with this kind of provenance are becoming increasingly difficult to find, especially examples that have remained so true to their original form.

The Volkswagen Beetle, first conceived in the 1930s and perfected by the 1970s, was designed for simplicity, reliability, and charm. By 1974, the Beetle had achieved legendary status, known worldwide for its air-cooled 1200cc engine, sturdy mechanics and unmistakable design. It is a car that needs no introduction, delivering an engaging driving experience with a timeless style.

This example has benefitted from careful maintenance over the years with very little usage over the past 10 years where it has done less than 1,000 miles. It has now been prepared for sale through our workshops with work including a service and front brake overhaul. Although now MOT exempt, it now has a fresh, advisory free MOT for additional peace of mind. The bodywork presents in excellent condition and the interior remains equally impressive, retaining all its period correct charm with a light patina that reflects its careful use.

Of particular note is the car’s history file, which is extensive and includes old MOT certificates and service receipts dating back more than 30 years. This rich history is now carefully presented in one of our bespoke RFH Classics presentation folders, underscoring the care and attention this car has received over its life.
