In stock here at RFH Classics we have this 1999 BMW E39 M5 4 Dr finished in the desirable Silverstone Blue with Black Leather Trim. We recently placed the car on an on-line auction as their feature car and it sold to a buyer who sadly subsequently it turns out did not have the funds to complete the purchase so we have re-listed the car. This low mileage example has just 68,900 miles and only 3 former keepers. The car is unmarked and has been maintained exceptionally well and comes with a full service history with the first 6 services being done at the supplying dealer which included the running in service carried out @ 975 miles. The first keeper of the car we are informed was the editor of Top Gear magazine and owned the car for nearly 12 years with the 2nd having the car for just over 8 years. In the last 11 years the car has only done 14,400 miles and was last serviced in August 2020 at 68,544 miles. The Alloy wheels have been professionally refurbished and are unmarked and the original chrome kidney grilles are in the boot if you wanted to remove the subtle black ones. Sit inside the car and you find Recaro style sports seat with beautiful Black Leather that is in exceptional condition, the dash display is in perfect order with no pixelation of the displays. The electric memory seat on the drivers seat has 3 memory positions, all of which works like new. The Climate Air Conditioning is ice cold and others features include Cruise Control, Traction Control, Electric Steering Adjustment, Remote Locking, Heated Seats as well as the usual electric windows all round with everything working as it should.

When the E39 M5 was introduced in 1998 it was the first M5 to come with a V8 power unit that took the power from 315PS in the old to model to the 400PS produced by this BMW S62 V8 power unit. From the factory they restricted the speed on the car to 155mph however it could achieve a phenomenal 186mph unrestricted with a 0-60 being recorded as 4.8 seconds. This truly is an amazing car that set a benchmark for cars of its age. This car has just been through a fresh MOT test with no advisories and will benefit from 3 months warranty.
