With us here at RFH Classics we are delighted to bring you this charming 1975 (N) MG Midget 1500, finished in the rarely seen Citron Yellow. Citron is a striking colour that was only offered for a short period during the mid 70’s making this car stand out as one of the more unusual and desirable Midgets you’ll find today.

This particular Midget has a story we know well as we first purchased the car around six years ago coming to us after it had been in storage and largely forgotten following an extensive body restoration carried out some 20 years prior. Since then, we have supplied it to two former very happy owners, both of whom part exchanged it back with us resulting in us having the another opportunity to offer this charming example.

In recent years the car has benefitted from tasteful upgrades including polished graphite Minilite style alloy wheels, new black seat covers, carpets along with a wood rimmed chrome steering wheel we fitted for the last owner three years ago when he had the car and all of which enhance the car’s period feel and usability.

The car is accompanied by a history file that documents significant recommissioning works totalling over £1,100 in 2019 and included new brakes and discs, brake master cylinder, new clutch and slave cylinder, replacement fuel tank, fuel pump and sender unit. On arrival this time the car has just been serviced, had a carburettor overhaul including being cleaned and balanced as well as a fresh, advisory free MOT test.

The MG Midget itself has a proud place in British motoring history, first introduced in 1961 as a fun, affordable two seater sports car that remaining in production until late 1979. Beloved for its nimble handling, compact size and classic open top motoring, it became a true icon of the era offering many customers their first taste of a sports car. Today, good examples of the later 1500cc cars are sought after as they combine the charm of the early models with a more flexible engine for modern driving.

Now nearly 50 years old, this MG is exempt from MOT testing requirements and qualifies for free historic road tax but as mentioned it is now tested for additional peace of mind and will be supplied with 3 months warranty. Running costs remain pleasingly low with classic insurance policies available at an excellent rate making it a highly affordable way to enjoy British open top motoring.

As with all our cars, it will be supplied with a certificate confirming it is clear of finance or accident damage.
