Our Warranty

Our Warranty

Buying a classic car is very different from buying a modern vehicle. Age, mileage, previous use and the nature of older mechanical components all need to be taken into consideration, which is why we believe any warranty offered should be clear and straightforward.

Where appropriate, vehicles sold by RFH Classics are supplied with our three-month major mechanical warranty, covering the principal components of the engine, gearbox and drivetrain.

What our warranty is designed to cover

Our warranty is intended to provide reassurance against the unexpected failure of major mechanical components during the warranty period. It is not intended to make a classic vehicle equivalent to a new or modern car, nor to cover routine maintenance, servicing, adjustment or items that naturally deteriorate through age and use.

Older vehicles and motorcycles

Because of the age, design or nature of some vehicles, particularly considerably older classics and motorcycles, our standard warranty may not always be appropriate. Where different arrangements apply, these will be discussed and made clear before purchase.

Independent inspection welcome

We encourage customers to satisfy themselves fully with the condition of any classic vehicle before purchase. You are welcome to inspect a vehicle thoroughly yourself or arrange for an independent specialist or inspection company to inspect it on your behalf.

We will cooperate with any reasonable independent inspection and make the vehicle available by prior arrangement.

If you experience a problem

If you believe a vehicle has developed a problem following purchase, please contact RFH Classics before arranging repairs or authorising work elsewhere. This gives us the opportunity to understand the issue and agree the appropriate next step.

Full details of the warranty applicable to an individual vehicle will be provided as part of the sale documentation.
