Arriving back with us at RFH Classics this week is this lovely 1978 (S) MGB GT, finished in Damask Red and complimented with a Grey Leather interior. This is a car we know particularly well having previously sold it approximately two years ago.
This GT stood out when we had it previously as it had benefited from a well documented restoration. In 2004 the car underwent an extensive rebuild by a recognised MG specialist with the benefit of a new British Motor Heritage bodyshell being used for the restoration. The accompanying history includes the original build sheets together with the restoration invoice for almost £14,000 when it was completed in 2004, providing excellent documentation of the work undertaken.
The MGB GT has now covered a little over 97,600 miles and is powered by the familiar 1798cc B-Series engine paired with a four-speed manual gearbox complete with Overdrive for the 3rd and 4th gears. The history file also contains a good selection of servicing and maintenance invoices together with MOT certificates dating back to 2003.
Having sold the car previously, we’re very pleased to have the opportunity to welcome it back into stock. It is due to arrive with us on this week after which it will go through our usual inspection and preparation process before a full set of photographs, walk-around video and detailed description are added to our website.
