RFH Classics Ltd – Terms & Conditions of Sale
1. Vehicle Description
Whilst every effort is made to provide accurate descriptions and pictures, all vehicles are sold as seen and inspected by the purchaser. Vehicles are of significant age and may show signs of wear consistent with their mileage and history.
2. Inspection & Test Drives
Purchasers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle and, where possible, undertake a test drive before completing a purchase. Any independent inspection must be arranged by the purchaser at their own cost and prior to completion.
3. Classic Vehicle Disclaimer
Classic and historic vehicles may not comply with current design, safety, or emission standards and will require regular maintenance. Purchasers accept that reliability, handling, and performance will differ from modern vehicles.
4. Warranty
• All retail sales include a 3-month major mechanical warranty covering the engine, gearbox, and drivetrain.
• This warranty is not transferable and excludes vehicles sold to businesses, trade buyers, or for commercial use (including taxi, hire, chauffeur, or delivery).
• The warranty does not cover vehicles used in competitive events, race, track, or rally activities.
• Wear-and-tear items, service parts, recovery to the supplying dealer and consumables are excluded.
• All warranty claims must be notified to RFH Classics Ltd in writing prior to any work being undertaken. No unauthorised repairs will be reimbursed.
5. Deposits & Payments
• A deposit will be required to reserve a vehicle. Deposits are non-refundable unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Full payment must be received before the release of the vehicle.
• Unless stated otherwise, all sales are conducted under the VAT Margin Scheme.
6. Ownership & Risk
Title to the vehicle shall pass to the purchaser only upon cleared funds being received in full. Risk passes to the purchaser upon collection/delivery of the vehicle.
7. Delivery
Where delivery is arranged, the vehicle is transported at the purchaser’s risk once collected by a third-party courier, unless otherwise agreed.
8. Distance Sales & Cooling-Off Rights
RFH Classics Ltd welcomes and encourages all purchasers to inspect and test the vehicle at our premises prior to completing any purchase. Where a purchaser chooses not to inspect the vehicle in person, they acknowledge and agree that the sale is made on an “as seen and described” basis. By proceeding without inspection, the purchaser expressly waives any rights to cancellation or return under the Consumer Contracts (Distance Selling) Regulations. No statutory cooling-off period applies to such sales. This does not affect the purchaser’s statutory rights in respect of misrepresentation or where otherwise required by law.
9. Returns & Refunds
Vehicles are supplied with the warranty provisions detailed above. Outside of this, no returns or refunds are accepted once the vehicle has left our premises, except where required by law.
10. Limitation of Liability
RFH Classics Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss or damage arising out of the use or inability to use the vehicle after sale.
11. Governing Law
All sales are subject to the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be dealt with under the jurisdiction of the English courts.
Classic Vehicle Ownership Advisory
Our vehicles are from a different era of motoring. Even when new, they required more care, consideration and routine maintenance than a modern vehicle. With age, the importance of this care becomes even greater.
• Breakdown Cover: We strongly recommend that you obtain adequate breakdown cover.
• Routine Checks: Engine oil, coolant levels and tyre pressures should be checked weekly and always before long journeys. For trips lasting several hours, we suggest regular breaks for both you and the vehicle.
• Driving Style: Classic vehicles are not optimised for sustained motorway use. A more relaxed driving style will enhance your enjoyment and reduce wear.
• Monitoring Gauges: Pay close attention to gauges and warning lights. If oil pressure drops or oil/water temperatures rise, stop immediately. Serious damage can occur in a very short time.
RFH Classics Ltd cannot be held responsible for any damage arising from neglect, misuse, or failure to take reasonable precautions as outlined above.
