MORRIS MINOR

Arriving next week with us here at RFH Classics we are delighted to be welcoming this charming 1959 Morris Minor 1000 4 Door Saloon finished in the ever tasteful Clarendon Grey with a beautifully contrasting Red interior trim complete with subtle White piping, a colour combination that suits the elegant lines of the Minor exceptionally well.

First launched in 1948 and designed under the guidance of the legendary Sir Alec Issigonis, the Morris Minor would go on to become one of Britain’s most loved and recognisable British motor cars. Renowned for its simple engineering, dependable mechanicals and wonderfully usable nature, the Morris Minor played a huge role in post-war motoring and today remains one of the most approachable and enjoyable classic cars to own.

This particular example presents wonderfully well and, despite being the subject of an older restoration believed to have been completed approximately 10–12 years ago, the car still retains a lovely honest appearance throughout. The paintwork, brightwork and overall presentation are all extremely pleasing while the interior trim remains in fantastic condition and clearly reflects careful ownership over the years.

Mechanically the car is fitted with its 1048cc engine paired to the 4-speed manual gearbox and benefits from a replacement cylinder head fitted in 2016 to allow for unleaded fuel use, a worthwhile upgrade for modern classic motoring. The car also sits on slightly deeper rim wheels which facilitate the fitment of more modern tyres, subtly improving usability while still retaining the car’s classic appearance.

Accompanying the vehicle is a history folder containing a pleasing collection of older MOT certificates, invoices and photographs documenting the restoration process which all help support the history and care this Morris Minor has clearly received throughout its life.

The car qualifies for historic road tax and benefits from being ULEZ exempt. Although vehicles of this age are MOT exempt, as part of our preparation process the car will be supplied with a fresh MOT test providing additional peace of mind for the next owner. As a classic it is eligible for low-cost classic car insurance and is supplied with 3 months major mechanical warranty. All of our vehicles are sold clear of finance or insurance damage with a certificate provided at handover. We recommend using premium unleaded fuel (E5) in all of our classic vehicles.
